Technical education plays a crucial role in shaping a nation’s progress. Developed countries around the world have advanced their economies by strengthening technical education, and Bangladesh is also taking significant steps in this direction.
As part of this initiative, the Bangladesh Technical Education Board (BTEB) and the ASSET Project jointly organized the “Institute Level Skills Competition 2025” on Thursday, February 27 at the Mangrove Institute of Science and Technology in Khulna.
Chief Guest’s Address :
The event was graced by Engineer Zainal Abedin, Director (Vocational Education), as the chief guest. Emphasizing the importance of skill development, he remarked,
“Technical education is essential for national development. To build a skilled workforce, we need both training and a competitive environment.”

Engineer Animesh Pal, Principal, Khulna Polytechnic Institute
Engineer Abdul Wahid Morol, Assistant Director, Apprenticeship Office
They stressed the need for greater collaboration between government and private sectors to enhance technical education in Bangladesh.
Chairperson’s Remarks :
The event was presided over by Md. Wasikur Rahman, Vice Principal of Mangrove Institute. In his speech, he encouraged students to focus on technological advancements and assured that similar competitions would be organized on a larger scale in the future.
The Skills Competition provided students with hands-on experience, equipping them with practical knowledge vital for their future careers. Experts believe that such initiatives will significantly contribute to Bangladesh’s technical and vocational education sector.
