As part of a sustained campaign to support public safety and uphold law and order, officers from Mohammadpur Police Station in the capital have detained 20 individuals suspected of involvement in various criminal activities.
The targeted operations took place on Monday, 5 May 2025, and were conducted under the strategic guidance of Deputy Commissioner Md. Ibn Mizan of Dhaka Metropolitan Police’s Tejgaon Division. Operational oversight was provided by the relevant Additional Deputy Commissioner, Assistant Commissioner, and the Officer-in-Charge of Mohammadpur Police Station.
Authorities reported that the detentions resulted from a combination of routine patrols and intelligence-led initiatives across several localities within the Mohammadpur area. The individuals taken into custody include suspects under ongoing observation, as well as those named in pending legal warrants.
The names and ages of the detainees were released by police and include: Tarikul Islam (28), Ekramul (30), Shahriya (23), Kamrul (35), Milon (21), Nayon (34), Tuhin (33), Sharif (20), Johurul (26), Ruhul Amin (20), Miraj (41), Abul Kalam (35), Ayub (19), Jisan (25), Limon (25), Jubayer (25), Robiul (27), Saeed (27), Jahangir (28), and Jamal (24).
Initial questioning has been carried out in accordance with legal procedure, and all individuals have been formally presented before the court for further action.
Police representatives have confirmed that these operations are part of an ongoing initiative to deter criminal behaviour and reinforce community security. Authorities have also indicated that similar efforts will continue in the coming days to ensure the safety of local residents.
