Police in Tangail have recovered the body of an unidentified man, believed to be around 54 years old, from a roadside drain in the Sabalia Panjapara area on Tuesday morning (February 18).
Discovery & Initial Investigation
Local residents spotted the body in the drain and alerted the police, who later arrived at the scene and recovered it.
Speaking on the matter, Tangail Sadar Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Tanvir Ahmed said:
“The body has been sent to Tangail General Hospital for an autopsy. The exact cause of death will be confirmed after the post-mortem report is available.”
However, an initial review of CCTV footage suggests that the man may have fallen into the drain while under the influence of drugs, leading to his death.
“Our team is working to verify his identity using advanced technology,” added OC Tanvir Ahmed.
